Financial Accountant Role

About the position: Financial Accountant / Bookkeeper

The firm is seeking a highly organised and experienced Financial Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their team in Queensland.

This pivotal role involves overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the firm's financial health and success.

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and cash flow management.
  • Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee trust account management and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Manage payroll and superannuation obligations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls.
Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have experience in financial accounting and bookkeeping, preferably within a law firm.

They will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

A relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, CA, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
