Strategic Financial Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled financial leader to drive financial strategy and operations in a dynamic public sector environment. As Chief Financial Officer, you will provide expert financial advice to senior executives, ensuring that financial and operational activities align with corporate objectives, legislative requirements, and government priorities.

Your portfolio will include budgeting, financial planning, reporting, compliance, asset management, procurement, facilities and fleet management, and emergency preparedness and response. You will lead the Finance and Procurement & Business Operations branches, overseeing teams to deliver results in dynamic environments.

To succeed in this role, you will bring extensive experience in managing complex financial operations within large organisations, strong expertise in high-value procurement, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a proven ability to lead teams and deliver results.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Provide expert financial advice to senior executives on budgeting, financial planning, reporting, compliance, asset management, and procurement.
  • Lead the Finance and Procurement & Business Operations branches, overseeing teams to deliver financial and operational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies and policies to support corporate objectives, legislative requirements, and government priorities.
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and standards.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance or a related field and membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Extensive experience in managing complex financial operations within large organisations, with expertise in high-value procurement.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
  • A proven track record of leading teams and delivering financial and operational outcomes.
Benefits and Remuneration

This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned financial leader to join our team and make a significant impact. The successful candidate will be engaged under a performance-based long-term contract for up to five years, with remuneration ranging from $376,285 to $389,635 depending on current superannuation arrangements.
