About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Speech Pathologist to join our team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality health-related supports to our clients. You will work closely with our staff to implement the NDIS High Intensity Skill Descriptor Dysphagia Support, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with managers to develop and implement effective personal support plans that meet client needs and NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Provide guidance and advice on Mealtime Management Plans and their implementation.
  • Offer expert advice on disorders of communication and swallowing.
  • Deliver evidence-based dysphagia training across the organization.
  • Review, modify, and conduct competency assessment training for Workers implementing Mealtime Management Plans.
  • Develop regular reporting and produce reports on health supports and compliance obligations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical and allied health providers and participate in complex case reviews.

Requirements

  • Certified membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
  • Experience working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Ability to design, review, and enhance client personal support plans in mealtime management.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage constructively and respectfully with individuals of diverse backgrounds.
  • Proven ability for critical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent written communication skills and ability to present information in a simple way.
  • Intermediate MS Office skills.
  • Flexibility to travel across greater Sydney and the Blue Mountains.
  • Adherence to the Code of Ethics set out by Speech Pathology Australia.

Desirable

  • Understanding of human rights principles and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.
  • Practical experience of the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators and High Intensity Supports Skills Descriptors.
  • Coaching and/or mentoring experience.

This role requires a current NSW Drivers Licence and will be subject to a police clearance, a current Working with Children Check, and a NDIS Worker Screening Check.
