Senior Project Planner Role Overview

Key responsibilities of the Senior Project Planner role include developing and managing delivery plans across a portfolio of diverse connection projects, spanning both transmission and distribution. The role also involves working closely with teams to embed process improvements into business-as-usual operations.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain detailed project plans and forecasts in collaboration with project managers and engineering leads, ensuring visibility for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  2. Accurately estimate task efforts and support resource planning by allocating engineering hours and forecasting short- and long-term needs.
  3. Drive consistent project delivery by embedding structured planning practices and promoting process improvements across regions.
  4. Proactively manage project risks, including time, cost, and scope variations, and maintain clear escalation and communication processes.
  5. Create portfolio reports and tracking tools to support management oversight, resource prioritisation, and timely delivery of critical milestones.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline (project management, engineering, or a related field).
  • Recognised project management certification is well regarded.
  • Expert skills in using Microsoft Project.
