Development Leader

Beaumont People is partnering with a global conservation organisation to find a Development Leader.

About the Role

This role is dedicated to conserving lands and waters on which all life depends. You will create innovative solutions to tackle the world's toughest challenges, ensuring nature and people can thrive together.

This is an exciting time to join the team as they invest in their Fundraising programs across Australia. As part of a global network, you will have access to peer relationships where you are encouraged to share, develop, and learn best practice fundraising techniques.

You will work closely with the development team to deliver and secure philanthropic gifts with a focus on major donor gifts and trusts and foundations. Your responsibilities include:

  • Building lasting relationships with existing & prospective donors
  • Managing & growing a portfolio of up to 75 - 125 mid-major donors
  • Ensuring consistency in providing the best possible donor experience
  • Confidently presenting the mission of the organisation to diverse groups educating on the options for giving
  • Handling confidential information with sensitivity
  • Self-motivating, learning & adopting strategic fundraising techniques to reach your personal revenue target
  • Building internal relationships to ensure a successful cross-functional approach

To be successful, you will require:

  • Demonstrated success growing a Major Gifts Donor Portfolio in a fundraising environment
  • Ability to implement & manage fundraising plans including cultivation, solicitation & recognition
  • Attention to detail & commitment to compliance (donor/legal/IRS)
  • An exceptional & adaptable communicator, confident in sensitive negotiations
  • Experience utilising a fundraising CRM to track multiple prospects & donors
  • A commitment to staying up to date with current trends in the areas of capital campaigns, major gifts or planned giving
  • Work autonomously in a remote setting, confident in identifying & solving problems
  • Travel frequently & work flexible hours as needed
