We are seeking a highly motivated medical professional to join our team as a Perinatal and Paediatric Pathology Specialist.

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pathologist to provide high-quality diagnostic, consultative, procedural, and on-call specialty services in perinatal and paediatric pathology.

  • You will be responsible for performing perinatal autopsies, including fetuses, stillborn infants, and neonates with their placentas.
  • Your reports will include accurate and detailed information with insight into potential causes of complications during pregnancy and/or birth.
Duties and Responsibilities

The primary duties of this role will be:

  • To conduct thorough examinations of perinatal and paediatric specimens, including but not limited to neoplasm, infection, inflammatory, and genetic disorders.
  • To participate in educational, training, and quality assurance programs and activities.

Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must have:

  • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Experience in Perinatal and Paediatric specialties is highly advantageous.
  • A strong commitment to basic, applied, or clinical research and/or medical education and staff training.
