About this Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Carer Support Specialist to join our team. This rewarding position involves working alongside carers and support services to ensure children remain connected to their culture, identity and community.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide emotional support and guidance to Kinship Carers
- Collaborate with families and community services to promote placement stability
- Identify training needs and boost carer confidence through targeted support plans
- Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored care strategies
- Facilitate meaningful events for children and carers, fostering a sense of belonging and connection
- Participate in an on-call roster, providing timely and effective support when needed
- Maintain accurate records and manage carer renewals efficiently
Required Skills and Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in social or behavioural sciences, social work, or psychology
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and understanding
- Experience working within a high-performance framework, with accountability for program delivery and outcomes
- Effective time management and organisational skills, ensuring seamless service delivery
