Library Programs Coordinator

This role focuses on developing and delivering community-facing programs that cater to various age groups, contributing to planning, promotion, and evaluation of these initiatives. You will support daily library operations, lead the development of innovative programs, and work closely with stakeholders across different backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain library resources and systems using Libero LMS.
  • Assist with circulation, inter-library loans, reference, and branch exchanges.
  • Deliver excellent customer service across a diverse community.
  • Develop and deliver engaging programs for children, youth, and seniors.
  • Contribute to planning, promotion, and evaluation of community programs.

You will be responsible for supporting daily library operations, leading program development, and contributing to planning and promotion efforts. You will also assist with grant applications, reporting, and financial administration, manage data collection and research for library reporting and funding, support Home Library Services, and participate in acquisitions planning and service improvement initiatives.

Key Qualifications
  • Experience working in a library or related setting.
  • Certificate IV in Library and Information Services (or willingness to obtain).
  • A valid NSW Working with Children Check.
  • Numerous skills such as program design, delivery, and evaluation, leadership, grant funding, and stakeholder engagement.

The ideal candidate is proactive, mature, and takes initiative without waiting for instruction. They should be a team player with strong organizational skills, capable of juggling core library operations with program development. They will thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same and they are empowered to make a real difference in their community.
