Job Description

This Senior Cyber Security Manager position plays a crucial role in leading our IT security operations management professionals to develop and implement strategy and business plans for the company's direction. The successful candidate will oversee daily business activities, collaborate with colleagues for sales and customer success, and improve overall business functions.


Responsibilities



  • Implement operational security policies and standards across Managed Operations teams aligned to industry best practice and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain governance and compliance with these policies and standards, working closely with Security Assurance and Cyber Advisory teams to identify and mitigate security risks
  • Drive security awareness and education campaigns to foster a security-first culture among employees and stakeholders
  • Enable the newly formed security operations team to ensure security and compliance of customers' IT infrastructure, applications, and data
  • Deliver standardised, repeatable, and automated services such as vulnerability management, application whitelisting, email security, certificate management, etc.
  • Respond to threats requiring preventative measures, such as zero-day vulnerabilities or malicious actors
  • Develop and rehearse BCP plans for security scenarios like ransomware or other incidents
  • Collaborate with the propositions team to develop solutions that are customer-ready and in line with market needs


Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • At least 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Expert knowledge of operational security policies and standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (Moss, ISO27k, SOC2, ASDE8, NZ10, NZ ISM, and IRAP)
  • Strong skills in security risk management, governance, and compliance, and security auditing
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of delivering security projects and initiatives on time, within budget, and with quality
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing security teams, with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, ISO27k LA, or equivalent are highly desirable
