Rehabilitation Psychologist Role Overview

As a Rehabilitation Psychologist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to individuals with rehabilitation needs.

You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, including physicians and allied health staff, to deliver patient-centered care that addresses the unique circumstances of each individual.

The successful applicant will be required to meet essential criteria, including holding a tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia and being registered as a Provisional Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.

Desirable criteria include possessing a current Driver's Licence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide psychological services to patients with rehabilitation needs, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that address the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patients' strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) in relation to their rehabilitation goals.
  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans that are tailored to patients' specific needs and goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of rehabilitation plans and make adjustments as needed.

Eligibility Criteria:
  • Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Registered as a Provisional Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia.
  • Working with Children Registration (where applicable and as determined by individual position requirements).
  • Current Driver's Licence (desirable).
