About the Role:

The Senior Lecturer will contribute to teaching and research within the Psychology Discipline at Victoria University. This role will involve academic supervision of students undertaking research, as well as the development and implementation of innovative teaching methods which align with contemporary practice.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing high quality and innovative teaching materials and practices.
  • Contributing to the student experience in programs as required, including course convening, unit convening and industry relationships.
  • Participating in professional development activities and undertaking scholarly review of teaching methods and practices.
  • Identifying, assessing, prioritising and controlling risks to the health and safety of staff, students, visitors and contractors to the environment arising from the operation of the area under their responsibility.

About You:

You will be expected to hold a PhD in Psychology and have experience teaching at the tertiary level. A commitment to excellence and innovation in curriculum development and delivery is essential.

Expertise in one of the following areas of teaching and/or practice is desired: Counselling Psychology, Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Personality, Social Psychology, Relationships. Registration as a psychologist with endorsement in an area of practice is also desired.
