Job Title: Mill Maintenance Lead

This is a pivotal role within our mill maintenance team, where you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operation of our processing plant. As the lead hand, your expertise in coordinating and directing a team of maintenance personnel will be essential in ensuring our plant runs efficiently with minimal downtime.

To succeed in this position, you will need to possess strong leadership skills, as well as technical knowledge of processing equipment and systems. Your ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues effectively will also be crucial. In addition, you should have a strong focus on safety and adherence to safety standards, with excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with different teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the maintenance activities within the mill area. This will involve coordinating a team of maintenance workers to ensure the continuous operation of the mill, minimizing downtime, and implementing safety and quality standards.

  • Provide leadership to a team of maintenance personnel in the safe and effective operation of the processing plant.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed according to company procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day maintenance activities of the processing plant, including preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Provide input into the weekly and long-term planning activities and execution of the plans, equipment overhauls, and repairs.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition of equipment to ensure optimum performance and reliability.
  • Report and document maintenance activities, work orders, and completed tasks.
  • Ensure all maintenance procedures, equipment, and processes are adhered to in a safe and effective manner.
  • Work closely with other departments to resolve issues and ensure production and maintenance schedules are met.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the team and report any hazards or risks to management.
  • Assist in the development and training of team members.
