About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health and Wellness Promoter to join our team at Southern Cross Care (SA, NT & VIC) Inc. As a Health and Wellness Promoter, you will play a vital role in creating opportunities for our residents to participate in physical activity and enhance their overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enable residents to maximize their independence, improve, and maintain their health, wellness, and quality of life through evidence-based health and wellness services.
  • Develop and deliver tailored exercise programs that meet resident goals and quality of life outcomes in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in early intervention processes to identify frailty and decline early and intervene early to optimize resident physical function and quality of life.
  • Implement organizational programs across all residential homes to promote healthy ageing and person-centered care.
  • Conduct audits to ensure all residential health and wellness programs operate in accordance with Southern Cross Care procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in our Health and Wellness Centre, ensuring suitable resources for programs.
Requirements
  • Certificate IV or higher in Fitness, Exercise Science, Personal Training, Exercise Physiology, or equivalent, including current accreditation with Physical Activity Australia, AusActive, or Exercise & Sports Science Australia.
  • Demonstrated delivery of progressive resistance training programs with older people.
  • Sound understanding of healthy ageing and the importance of physical function in maintaining engagement in personally valued pursuits.
  • Ability to analyze information, respond to, and advocate on behalf of customer needs.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
