Senior Financial Accountant Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Sydney.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing financial accounting and reporting services to the company group of entities.

  • Internal and external audits
  • Direct and Indirect Tax compliance

As a senior member of the Finance team, you will provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams, including AP AR and finance teams. You will also play a key role in implementing new ERP systems and performing ad hoc duties as assigned by the Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Financial Control and Reporting:

    • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analysis for the company entities.
    • Ensure all reporting units comply with regional and global reporting timetables.
    • Support the Head of Finance in accounting policy and standard interpretation and application for the company entities.
  2. Compliance:

    • Ensure financial reports are accurate, complete, and compliant with financial regulations.
    • Manage compliance with relevant statutory reporting requirements.
    • Responsible for the completion of SOX audit deliverables and results.
    • Manage internal and external audit relationships and deliverables.
    • Liaise with Finance team members, relevant Departments, and Shared Service centres to deliver these outcomes.
  3. Tax Compliance and Reporting:

    • Prepare quarterly and annual tax reporting in conjunction with the Global Tax Team.
    • Liaise with external tax advisors and Group Tax team to complete required tax submissions.
    • Responsible for the review and preparation of annual Income Tax returns, FBT, Payroll Tax, and GST for the company entities.
  4. Insurances:

    • Support the Head of Finance in the renewals of various insurance policies.
  5. Legal, Health and Safety:

    • Take all reasonable care for your personal health and safety, as well as that of everyone who may be affected by your actions in the workplace.
    • Liaise and co-operate with management regarding current health and safety legislation and obligations within the location and area where you are performing your duties.
