Key Role: Drive impactful health, safety & wellbeing projects across a national healthcare network

Shape and Enhance: Develop and implement Healthscope's HSW Management System to ensure best practice and compliance.

About the Opportunity:

The HSW Projects & Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the development of the Healthscope Health, Safety & Wellbeing Management System (HSWMS) as well as conducting risk-based Health and Safety projects to support Healthscopes HSW Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage HSW projects by coordinating resources, maintaining documentation, monitoring project plans, and ensuring timely on-budget delivery aligned with methodology.
  • Support Governance and Execution: Contribute to governance and execution through research, reporting, financial tracking, development of risk-based tools, regulatory review, and strategic advice to the HSW team and National Program Manager.
  • Health and Safety Management: Develop and monitor the HSW Management System to ensure legal and regulatory compliance, including drafting procedures, guidelines, and forms.
  • Contribute to Health and Safety Plans: Contribute to health and safety plans aligned with the HSW Management System and Health and Safety Strategy.
  • Maintain Organisational HSW Risk Register: Maintain the organisational HSW risk register, upload risk assessments, and support sites with forms, templates, and risk management processes.
  • Participate in Audits: Participate in audits and the HSW Assurance Program, including site inspections and action plan development.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure systems and initiatives meet business needs.
  • HSW Data Analysis: Analyse HSW data and support the preparation of regular reports for Healthscope leadership.

Career Criteria:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in a Health, Safety and Wellbeing role, with experience developing health and safety related documentation, including procedures, templates and tools. They will also have proven experience in program / project management in a complex environment, and experience in developing health and safety management systems in a healthcare setting. A degree in Work, Health and Safety or higher is required, along with project management training, e.g. Agile Certification, Prince2 or similar. Membership or affiliation with a safety professional association is also preferred.
