About the Opportunity">

The Australian Government's Economic Stream graduate program offers a unique chance to apply theoretical knowledge and skills in real-world settings, working closely with top economic policy analysts.

This 12-month full-time position provides extensive training and development opportunities, enabling graduates to progress their skills and become valuable contributors to the APS.

Candidates will be matched with suitable placements in various government departments or agencies, offering exposure to diverse areas of economics and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducting data analysis and creating forecasts using specialized tools and approaches
  • Reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing information on various economic topics, including taxation, housing, climate, and energy
  • Engaging in policy research and development to support the implementation of new measures for the Australian Government
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be an Australian citizen
  • Have completed a Bachelor degree or higher by December 31st, 2026
  • Have completed their qualification between January 1st, 2022, and December 31st, 2026
  • Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance once accepted into the program
  • Be willing to undergo any required checks, such as police, character, health, or other assessments
