Job Opportunity: Employer Advocate

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as an Employer Advocate.

This role involves building and maintaining strong relationships with employers to create meaningful employment opportunities for our participants.

  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with employers to encourage inclusive hiring practices, deliver training on workplace diversity, and support strategic workforce planning and retention strategies.
About the Role

In this role, you will develop tailored interventions to support both participants and employers in achieving sustainable employment outcomes. You will also collaborate with ongoing support practitioners to co-design solutions that help participants remain engaged in long-term employment.

You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to deliver training around workplace diversity and customised employment, and for partnering with employers to plan and develop workforce strategies that create future job opportunities and improve staff retention.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Lived experience or relevant experience supporting people with a disability, which has provided you with a deep understanding of their needs and challenges.
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder engagement skills, allowing you to build effective relationships with employers and participants.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the local labour market and employer needs, which will enable you to identify opportunities for collaboration and partnership.
  • A proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, with resilience and adaptability being essential qualities.
  • Clear and adaptable communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • A passion for inclusive employment and a commitment to supporting people with disability.
  • Familiarity with disability service standards and case management principles, which will enable you to provide high-quality support to participants.
  • Cultural competence and the ability to work effectively with diverse communities, including those from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
  • A high level of digital literacy, which will enable you to use technology effectively to support your work.
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's licence, which will be required for travel between locations.
