Power System Engineering Leadership Position

This leadership position focuses on developing and maintaining power system engineering tools that support Modelling & Engineering functions, ensuring AEMO and industry have fit-for-purpose capabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a diverse team of engineers and developers to develop the capabilities and talent pipeline for upcoming projects and sustainable tool maintenance.
- Fulfill all aspects of IT Custodian for applications and tools used for power system data management, modelling, and operational purposes.
- Support Operations Technology Program Modelling uplift projects and AEMO Modelling Strategy initiatives.
- Continuously improve training programs to uplift developer skills within Operations business teams and standardize practices across AEMO.
- Appropriate tertiary and/or postgraduate qualifications in a related field.
- Experience leading software development teams, including planning and delivering training for junior engineers and analysts.
- Significant experience in managing power system applications and automation tools, with knowledge of power system fundamentals highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data governance, including version control, software development life-cycle, and data security.
- Demonstrated ability to manage small-medium projects, including resourcing, time, and cost management.
