Infrastructure Director

This is a senior management role that provides professional and technical leadership in the construction of infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will oversee the management of a local council team and professionals who are deployed to undertake the reconstruction of roads and other public assets.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and work with contractors and service providers to deliver the project in a collaborative and cooperative manner.
- Develop and implement delivery frameworks and processes to ensure the successful execution of the project.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, promoting diversity and inclusivity.
- Provide technical and governance advice, addressing risks relating to Safety, Quality, Environment, Financial, reputation, and resourcing.
- Engage with the community, funding bodies, government organizations, internal and external customers to understand their expectations and request feedback on service delivery.
- Procure services in accordance with Local Government Act 1993 and Local Government Regulation 2021 and Council's Procurement Framework.
- Monitor construction performance, track metrics, and drive performance improvements to manage efficient projects and maintenance works.
- A working history in construction and significant experience in Program and/or Project management with qualifications.
- A senior level of relevant professional experience in construction and operational leadership managing a Tier 1, 2 to achieve project outcomes.
- Experience delivering reconstruction projects in a leadership position across technical infrastructure standards including roads, drainage, bridges, and other public assets.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence, build trust, shape conversations, and change behaviors through effective relationships.
