Job Description:

This residential role is based in Kalgoorlie and involves working an 8/6 roster with 12-hour days. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain operational readiness of safety/emergency response equipment and vehicles, plan and deliver emergency response training, and act as First Responder for incident management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain site emergency management documentation to current standards.
  • Facilitate risk assessments as a subject matter expert in emergency planning & response.
  • Maintain relationships with mutual aid emergency services agencies and personnel.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain emergency work procedures and promote high health, safety, and environmental standards.
Requirements:
  • Experience in underground and/or processing mine environments (desirable).
  • Knowledge of applicable WHS legislation, Australian standards, and industry codes of practice.
  • Good computer literacy.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role.
  • Experience delivering effective training materials.
  • Effective communication skills across all levels, verbally and in writing.
  • Strong record-keeping and presentation skills.
Qualifications:
  • Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue.
  • Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent.
  • Current unrestricted medical certificate.
