Senior Software Developer for Large-Scale Infrastructure

We're seeking a skilled Senior Software Developer (Java) to join our team. As a key member, you'll work on core tolling, billing, and collections applications, focusing on expert coding and configuration within our Java platform.
This is a 12-month contract role that can be based in Melbourne, Sydney, or Brisbane. If you're passionate about creating lasting impact and shaping the future of cities and communities, this could be your ideal opportunity.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to project and initiative solution design aligned with the platform's technical direction
- Managing and operationalising engineering code within the Java platform application domain
- Implementing feature-driven software engineering practices and processes
- FOLLOWING source code branching and merging strategies for Java application platforms
- Actively participating and demonstrating leadership in industry forums
- Providing input to other Core Tolling, Billing, and Collections teams during user story implementation
- Designing and developing new features and enhancements on the platform along with performing root cause analysis and defect remediation
You'll need expertise in Java development, including J2EE technologies, frameworks like Spring, and web technologies like HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. A proven track record in designing and building Java applications in an enterprise context is essential. Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and DevSecOps principles, as well as strong development tool skills, is also required.
A competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year reflects the demands and expectations of this role.
