Researcher Position Focused on Aboriginal Communities

Position Overview:
This role involves engaging as a Researcher within our Research and Social Policy division on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will contribute to multiple research initiatives designed to tackle social issues and promote advocacy for transformation.

Candidate Profile:
We are looking for an enthusiastic researcher who possesses expertise in qualitative methodologies and a commitment to advancing social justice. Applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals are particularly encouraged.

Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing external research initiatives
- Collaborating with stakeholders across academia, governmental bodies, and the social services sector
- Engaging in projects that involve Aboriginal communities
- Converting research outcomes into practical recommendations

Essential Qualifications:
- Relevant higher education qualifications in social sciences, public health, or social work
- Proven experience in qualitative research with an interest in mixed-methods strategies

Desirable Qualifications:
- Understanding of social policy and relevant governmental organizations related to Uniting's focus areas
- Background in research projects involving Aboriginal communities
- Proficiency in research tools such as R, SPSS, or NVivo
