Job Overview

The role of a Principal Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Engineer is to drive innovation in data science and AI. You will lead the architectural design and implementation of robust, scalable machine learning operations pipelines.

You will develop and implement sophisticated artificial intelligence agentic systems and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines. Additionally, you will guide the engineering approach for leveraging large language models and other generative AI technologies to solve business problems.

As a leader, you will manage, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of machine learning and AI engineers. You will own the operational integrity and performance of all production machine learning and AI systems, establishing best practices for continuous integration, continuous deployment, automated testing, monitoring, and incident response.

Responsibilities:
  1. Design and implement MLOps pipelines that are scalable, efficient, and reliable.
  2. Develop technical strategies and roadmaps for the development of sophisticated AI agentic systems and RAG pipelines.
  3. Lead the engineering approach for leveraging LLMs and other generative AI technologies to solve business problems.
  4. Manage and lead a high-performing team of machine learning and AI engineers.
  5. Own the operational integrity and performance of all production machine learning and AI systems.
Qualifications

To be successful, you must have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in production machine learning systems.
  • Expert-level Python programming skills for production systems, with demonstrated experience in designing and building large language model applications.
  • A strong understanding and hands-on experience with generative AI technologies (RAG, vector databases, embedding models) and MLOps principles and tooling.
