Job Title: Truck Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Mechanic to join our team at Parry Logistics, a family-owned transport business based in Tamworth NSW.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for serving and repairing trucks as per repair order instructions within the service department. They will promote customer satisfaction to the required dealer standards and oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform work as per the repair order instructions
  • Advise of any additional work that is required to the workshop foreman
  • Document all work performed, including cause and correction, and recommend any work not carried out during service and repair
  • Ensure that the customer vehicle is left as they found it, including cleanliness, movement of the seat, radio, Bluetooth, and mirror adjustments
  • Supervise any apprentice assigned to them
  • Appropriately and safely operate all tools and equipment as mandated through safety training
  • Communicate with the parts department to obtain needed parts
  • Attend all dealership and service department meetings and online training when requested
  • Keep the workshop area neat and clean and be able to account for all dealership-owned tools at all times
Requirements:
  • Trade Certificate
  • Drivers' Licenses equivalent to the role, including car, light duty, truck, and agriculture
  • Technical Knowledge as per their qualification specifications
  • Customer service-focused, committed to providing exceptional customer service across all channels
  • Communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending on the audience
  • Attention to detail, including excellent attention to detail and written skills when communicating with others
  • Teamwork, including a willingness to assist and support others as required and get on with team members
  • Time management/organization, including the ability to accomplish objectives effectively within a given timeframe and carry out administrative duties in an efficient and timely manner
