Job Title: Aviation Advisor

This role offers an exciting opportunity to take your career to new heights.

  • As a senior aviation advisor, you will be responsible for providing specialist advice on aviation operations and conducting comprehensive safety audits.
  • You will oversee the delivery of aviation-related projects for our clients, ensuring alignment with industry standards.
  • Key responsibilities include:
Aviation Audits and Deliverables:
  • Planning and conducting aviation audits and assessing operator safety for SGS Aviation clients.
  • Providing technical and commercial aviation advice.
  • Preparing written audit and project reports with recommendations for the conduct and continuous improvement of client aviation activities.
  • Following-up and closing out issues raised during audits and projects.
  • Maintaining professional contact and effective working relationships with clients.
  • Discharging administrative duties required for the efficient conduct of their position.

Candidates will be expected to possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and experience in the aviation industry.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Airline transport pilot's license (for at least 8 years and over 2500 flight hours) with previous exposure to maintenance activities, or Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license with relevant operational experience.
  • Ideally, 15 years' experience in the aviation industry, including experience relevant to SGS Aviation's activities.
  • Successful completion of full Safety Management System training.
  • Auditing experience, with at least 10 aviation-related audits conducted within the last 4 years.
  • Completion of a quality/safety (ISO approved) lead auditor course.
  • Solid understanding of CASA and ICAO regulations.
  • Experience auditing aircraft operators (fixed or rotary wing), and inspecting aerodromes and offshore helidecks.
  • Valid BOSIET training certificate for offshore travel.
  • BARS auditor qualifications/accreditation (highly regarded).
  • RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) experience (preferable).
