Sales Director

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute revenue growth strategies to achieve set sales targets.
- Lead the C&E Sales team to maintain efficiencies and drive business development for the hotel.
- Manage the Conference incentive database of key contacts/clients and develop sales strategies to ensure targets are achieved.
- Implement sales conversion targets for the team and ensure these are measured monthly.
- Identify periods of high demand and implement strategies to maximise revenue.
- Drive the team to exceed Conference Vision targets and champion business development for the hotel.
- Monitor competitors and assess relevance to current sell strategies.
- Prepare and make recommendations on sales forecasts ensuring accuracy within agreed ratios.
- Ensure the C&E Sales team operates efficiently to minimise errors.
- Monitor and report any issues relating to processing of deposits and payments for the team.
- Prepare weekly forecast reports detailing upcoming events and communicate same to all operating departments.
- Provide reporting as evidence of activities.
- Chair and drive the weekly banquet event order meetings and ensure their efficiency.
- Provide quotations for C&E proposals covering venue, function, menu and accommodation costs ensuring revenue is maximised.
- Ensure the team succeeds in delivering an exceptional event to guarantee client satisfaction.
- Coordinate and host familiarisation and site inspection activities including follow-up.
- Ensure an active presence in the hotel as required by business demands or client and team member needs.
- Attend outside sales calls, tradeshows and meetings in the pursuance of the business and leads.
Requirements:
- Ability to work weekends as required by clients.
- Service oriented with an eye for detail.
- Role is based in the hotel office.
- Multicultural awareness and ability to work with people from diverse cultures.
- Ability to work independently and demonstrated initiative in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
- Strong focus and passion for hotel operations.
- Sound understanding of emerging trends in the industry.

- Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications.
