Job Title:

Operations Manager - Family-Focused Education and Activity Centre

About the Role:

We are seeking a calm, capable, and highly engaged leader with a proven record of operational excellence in environments where kids, families, or community come first.

  • Leadership experience in sport, childcare, leisure, youth programs, education, or customer-focused industries
  • Proven success leading change across systems, processes, and culture
  • A grounded, emotionally intelligent leadership style with collaboration at its core
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, child protection, and compliance frameworks
  • Eligibility to obtain a Working With Children Check

This is a hands-on, on-site leadership role in a fast-moving, family-focused environment where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for daily operations, team leadership, compliance, and ensuring every family has an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Centre Operations:
    • Oversee daily running of classes, reception, and activities
    • Monitor facilities, safety, and compliance
    • Support front-line needs as required
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Mentor and motivate Supervisors, Teachers, Reception, and Admin staff
    • Provide coaching to uphold safety, service, and customer care standards
    • Assist with rostering and workforce planning with HR
  3. Customer Experience:
    • Ensure families receive consistent, people-first service
    • Resolve escalated concerns in partnership with the CX Manager
    • Model warm, community-focused leadership in daily interactions
  4. Compliance & Safety:
    • Uphold child-safety standards, regulations, and industry compliance
    • Partner with Supervisors and Maintenance to ensure safe facilities
  5. Administration & Systems:
    • Support reception and admin processes for smooth operations
    • Manage reporting, scheduling, and documentation
    • Identify and implement operational improvements
  6. Collaboration & Strategic Alignment:
    • Work closely with leadership peers and external specialists
    • Provide regular updates on staffing, compliance, and operations
