Role Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to deliver medical services in accordance with professional standards, legislation and Defence Policies and Procedures.

  • As an Aviation Medical Officer / General Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering medical services to patients across various settings including aviation-based services such as fitness to fly assessments and aviation medicals.
  • Providing medical technical advice to senior health professionals within the Joint Health Unit and Joint Health Command.
Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering medical services to patients in accordance with professional standards, legislation and Defence Policies and Procedures.

Requirements
  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Medical Practitioner
  • FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
  • Minimum 2 years' full time (or part time equivalent) GP experience in the last 5 years
  • Australian Citizen – for Baseline Security Clearance requirements
  • Basic military aviation medicine course or equivalent - Opportunity to be sponsored to complete this if not currently held
