Job Opportunity:

The Emergency Response Team is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Services Officer to join our team in Perth. This role presents an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of others by providing exceptional emergency response services.

About the Role:

This is a critical position that requires strong leadership, technical skills, and excellent communication abilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating injury management, supporting injury incident investigations and reporting, assisting with biological monitoring and wellness assessments, providing leadership to the Emergency Response Team, developing and delivering emergency response training, conducting inspections and stocktakes of Mines Rescue equipment, ensuring training complies with legislation and company policies, and developing and reviewing risk assessments and rescue plans for confined spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Facilitating injury management, including liaising with health professionals, supporting injured workers, and administering Return to Work Plans;
  • Supporting injury incident investigations and reporting;
  • Assisting the Site Registered Nurse with biological monitoring and wellness assessments;
  • Providing leadership to the Emergency Response Team (ERT), including developing and delivering emergency response training;
  • Developing, reviewing, and maintaining emergency response procedures and systems;
  • Conducting inspections and stocktakes of all on-site Mines Rescue equipment, including the Mine Ambulance and Fire Truck;
  • Ensuring training complies with legislation and company policies;
  • Developing, reviewing, and facilitating risk assessments and rescue plans for confined spaces.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a similar underground mining role, hold relevant certifications such as RII30709 - Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue, Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Nationally Accredited Drug and Alcohol Testing training, and possess proven leadership skills within an Emergency Response Team. Additionally, they should have experience in Mine Rescue, Emergency Response, and site Medic responsibilities, be able to develop and deliver emergency response training, have knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, and possess strong communication and IT skills. The ability to work under pressure and maintain attention to detail is also essential.
