About the Role

The Economic Research and Analysis (ERA) unit is a key part of the Transport Policy Branch in Transport and Main Roads' Policy, Planning and Investment Division. The ERA unit plays a crucial role in providing economic analysis and advice to support the development of transport policies and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Economic Analysis and Modelling: Conduct economic analysis and modelling to inform transport policy and project decisions.
  • Policy Advice: Provide advice to internal stakeholders on economic policy issues and their impact on the transport system.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and analysis on strategic and long-term economic issues facing the transport system and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Coordinating Economic Policy: Coordinate Transport and Main Roads' approach to broad economic policy issues, particularly where there is shared responsibility across the organization or Queensland government.
Requirements
  • Economic Analysis Experience: Proven experience in economic analysis and modelling, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Communication Skills: Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including strong analytical skills and the ability to express complex ideas.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience managing projects and teams to deliver a program of work.
  • Educational Background: Demonstrated experience or a degree(s) in Economics or Business/Commerce/Arts with Economics major(s) or postgraduate qualifications (e.g., economics; transport planning; financial analysis; forecasting).
