Job Title: Automation Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for providing electrical field service and technical support, including installations, maintenance, and repairs of automation equipment across diverse customer sites in South Australia.

The role involves delivering technical services to customers, supporting machine installations, conducting scheduled maintenance, and providing troubleshooting and repairs across automation systems including PLCs, robotics, and servo drives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical service, installation, and repair work on automation equipment.
  • Deliver programming and modifications as needed for PLCs, touchscreens, and robotics.
  • Interpret circuit diagrams and recommend system improvements.
  • Provide training to personnel on equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Complete detailed service reports, including part numbers and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHSE) standards across all customer and internal sites.
Requirements
  • An Electrical Trade Qualification with a current South Australian Electrical Licence.
  • At least 5 years of post-trade experience in manufacturing, packaging, or a related industry.
  • Proficiency with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Omron), robotics, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills, customer service focus, and a solutions mindset.
  • Experience with AC/DC drives and mechanical aptitude is highly regarded.
  • Flexibility to travel interstate (and occasionally internationally) as required.
