About the Role

The Clinical Excellence Commission is a leader in safety and quality, working to improve healthcare for patients in NSW.

This dedicated project officer will play a key role in providing expert advice and support to help ensure safe and high-quality care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who access NSW Health services.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong commitment to patient safety, cultural awareness, and community engagement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing expert advice and support on clinical safety issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Developing and implementing projects to improve patient safety and quality within NSW Health
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the health system to identify and address safety concerns
  • Building relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and leaders to understand their needs and priorities
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant area or equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and social and emotional needs
  • Experienced in managing and ensuring project outcomes are delivered within agreed time frames
  • Leadership skills including excellent written and oral communication skills and computer literacy
  • High level organisational skills with a capacity to prioritise competing interests and meet tight deadlines
