Support Student Learning

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Paraeducator to join our team. In this role, you will provide academic and behavioral support to students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) in a special education itinerant setting.
  • You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to implement instructional programs and ensure student mastery of grade-level curriculum or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
  • Your responsibilities will include facilitating student learning, managing behaviors that impact student access to the curriculum, and participating in learning activities off school grounds as required.

  • As a member of our team, you will participate with students in learning activities off school grounds as required and assist students with various needs related to academic, behavioral, social, emotional, and physical support.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 48 college credits and two years of experience working with children and adolescents in a structured setting is preferred.
  • Alternatively, two years of experience working in a daycare, pre-school, adult day program, after-school program, extended day, or school/non-school based departments may be considered.
  • Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment with a qualifying score of 455 or higher is required.

Skill Requirements

  • Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies, and practices applicable to assignment is essential.
  • Ability to assist with implementation of the instructional program and to participate in monitoring and ensuring appropriate student behavior is crucial.
  • Interacting with and supporting students with special needs is also a key aspect of this role.
