We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our payroll operations in Australia.
About the Role
- The successful candidate will lead and support a team of payroll specialists, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Responsibilities include overseeing payroll operations, maintaining master data, producing payrolls, statutory reporting, and payment processing in accordance with compliance requirements and service level agreements.
- The ideal candidate will stay up-to-date with changes to awards, enterprise agreements, and relevant legislation, ensuring effective application and communication.
- Collaboration with the Payroll Systems and HRIS teams is essential for seamless system operation and resolving technical issues.
- Key responsibilities also include control and compliance activities, including audits, verifications, and reporting to ensure governance and mitigate risk.
- The successful candidate will provide technical support to the team, resolving escalated queries and complex payroll issues in collaboration with HR and Finance.
- Another key responsibility is coordinating training, onboarding, and capability development for payroll team members, maintaining relevant documentation and plans.
- Ongoing payroll process improvements and supporting integration projects, such as acquisitions or system upgrades, are also critical.
- The role requires tracking and reporting on key metrics, including service level agreements, case resolution times, overpayments, and recovery efforts.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization is essential for delivering efficient and high-quality payroll services.
- SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE WORKFORCE CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM'S PAYROLL CAPABILITY TO ENHANCE FIRST-CONTACT RESOLUTION WILL ALSO BE A KEY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS ROLE.
