Job Title:
Transportation Operations Supervisor
About the Role:
This position involves overseeing all rolling stock movements within a maintenance depot, coordinating with the Operation Control Centre (OCC), and managing daily maintenance activities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage maintenance team tasks to meet production and train service requirements
- Control train movement entering/exiting the maintenance depot facility in coordination with the OCC and Maintenance Team Supervisors
- Depot operation management within the Depot Control Centre (DCC) including train movements and shunting, train preparation, and depot facilities maintenance
- Autorise work performed by third-party subcontractors
- Prepare and agree on launching plans with the Operations Control Centre (OCC)
- Safety and depot possession management in accordance with operational and safety management systems
- Investigate accidents and incidents and support the Depot Maintenance Manager in root cause analysis
- Manage staff leave, minor disciplinary issues, return-to-work interviews, appraisals, and probations
Qualifications and Requirements:
- An Australian-recognised signalling and telecoms licence or Certificate III (or equivalent) in Rail Network Control
- Prior experience in a maintenance background is advantageous but not essential
- Operational experience within the railway industry in a similar role is preferred
- Previous experience in managing a team of technicians is required

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. You should also have a strong understanding of rail network control principles and practices.
