Clinical Coding Opportunities at Healthscope

  • We are seeking a skilled Clinical Coder to join our team at Healthscope, responsible for timely and accurate clinical coding using ICD-10-AM and correct assignment of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG).
  • This role requires participation in education & quality activities, keeping abreast with current relevant clinical coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards, and contributing to clinical documentation improvement initiatives.
  • You will also participate in audits as necessary and share coding knowledge with other clinical coders within the team.

Requirements:

  • Authority to Work in Australia is mandatory.
  • HIMAA certification in Clinical Coding or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years' experience using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS is required.
  • You must have experience in clinical coding across a range of DRGs with demonstrated high coding quality skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current Clinical Coding guidelines and Australian Coding Standards is essential.
  • A sound understanding of Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRG) and 3M Codefinder, TurboCoder and PICQ is necessary.
  • Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads are required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • You must be able to work efficiently unsupervised and within a team environment.
