We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team at Thomson Geer, a leading Australian Corporate law firm. As a Financial Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of our firm's financial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly Business Activity Statements for the partnership and service trust, including tax adjustment schedules.
- Provide detailed analysis and prepare end of month journals, including account reconciliations.
- Produce monthly balance sheets and cash movement summaries.
- Perform regular reviews of accounts payable and work in progress balances.
- Update the finance system, ensuring data is up to date and accurate.
- Undertake banking activities as required.
- Prepare annual partnership and service trust FBT returns.
- Liaise regularly with external accountants, auditors & the ATO to provide timely financial information.
- Participate in the annual Budget process in consultation with the Finance Manager.
- Provide or assist in the provision of a range of financial management and accounting advisory, analysis and reporting services to designated areas and the firm as a whole.
- Ensure the preparation of financials is compliant with ATO guidelines and Australian Accounting Standards.
- Strong attention to detail.
