Disability Support Worker Opportunity

Our organisation is expanding and we need dedicated support workers to fill a Disability Support Worker position. We are a leading disability support provider serving the South Burnett community and Toowoomba for several years.

We offer continuous development opportunities in a supportive and inclusive environment. Our low staff turnover reflects our commitment to exceptional care and collaborative approach between office and field staff.

The role of Disability Support Worker involves:

  • Providing in-home, community access, and/or centre-based support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Assisting with personal care tasks, including grooming, showering, and bowel health management.
  • Performing manual handling and hoist transfers (training available if needed).
  • Supporting participants with meal preparation, domestic assistance, and maintaining their environment.
  • Facilitating social, recreational, and educational activities.
  • Collaborating to achieve participants' goals using person-centred approaches.

Key requirements include:

  • Blue Card for working with children.
  • NDIS Worker Screening or Yellow Card.
  • Current Queensland driver's license.
  • First Aid Certificate (HLTAID003 or equivalent) & CPR.
  • NDIS Orientation Module (or willing to complete).
  • Medication Management Certificate (or Willing to complete).
  • Infection control certificate (or Willing to complete).

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, or Community Services.
  • Experience in the disability or aged care sector (or willingness to undertake training).
  • Knowledge of Person-Centred Practices.
  • Experience with Positive Behaviour Plan (PBSP) Implementation.
  • Experience with Scheduled Medication Management and Administration.
