Senior Bridge Development Lead

Job Summary:

This role is a senior leadership position responsible for the overall development and growth of our bridge engineering capability across Australia. Reporting directly to the Regional Director for Highways & Bridges, you will be responsible for supervising a team of bridge engineers and designers.

  • Lead project teams in delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Oversee contract negotiations, ensure compliance with contractual agreements, and resolve any disputes that may arise.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Mentor and develop technical staff, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and lead projects from conception to completion.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and securing new contracts.
  • Collaborate with other business sectors and teams to identify cross-selling opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Monitor output to ensure all work meets the required standards, is delivered on time, and within budget.
  • Approve employee time, expenses, and other management functions necessary for day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in civil engineering.
  • Extensive industry experience as a bridge engineer recognized by clients at state level.
  • Strong understanding of design and analysis of bridges and civil structures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and clients.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Interpersonal and teamwork skills in complex and changing environments.
