About This Opportunity

The organisation is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to drive a proactive and accountable risk culture across the business. As Head of Risk Culture and Capability, you will make a significant impact by embedding a strong risk culture, enhancing risk awareness and capability, and supporting strategic alignment with the Risk Management Strategy.

You will partner with senior leaders to embed risk thinking into everyday business decisions, strategic planning, and operations. You will also establish and monitor frameworks and metrics to assess risk culture maturity and identify opportunities for growth.

This role requires a proven track record of developing and embedding risk culture frameworks and 3LOD capability programs. You should have relevant tertiary and postgraduate qualifications in risk, compliance, or leadership.

As a trusted advisor, you will leverage feedback and trends to evolve the organisation's approach to risk capability. You will be responsible for championing collaboration across teams to embed consistent messaging and shared responsibility for risk management.

You will influence key stakeholders and lead change initiatives that foster openness, resilience, and continuous improvement in risk practices.

The ideal candidate is an experienced and influential leader in the financial services sector, with a strong background in risk, compliance, or internal audit. They will bring credibility and passion for fostering a resilient, learning-oriented organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Embed risk thinking into everyday business decisions, strategic planning, and operations
  • Establish and monitor frameworks and metrics to assess risk culture maturity and identify opportunities for growth
  • Drive alignment with regulatory requirements, supporting governance and contributing to risk-related reporting
  • Champion collaboration across teams to embed consistent messaging and shared responsibility for risk management
  • Influence key stakeholders and lead change initiatives that foster openness, resilience, and continuous improvement in risk practices
