We are seeking a highly motivated and talented PhD candidate to join our team at Monash University in the Faculty of Art, Design and Architecture. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project that focuses on designing health futures, with a specific emphasis on immunoglobulin therapy.
About the Project
The OPTIMAL CRE is a multidisciplinary research group that brings together patients, researchers, health professionals, and health economists to generate new knowledge and research capacity required to design, build, and implement better systems for delivering immunoglobulin therapy. The PhD candidate will be embedded in this group and will work closely with clinicians, researchers, and patients to co-design and prototype new service pathways and develop future models and systems of care.
About the Role
The PhD candidate will be located in the Monash Emerging Technologies Lab (ETLab), one of Australia's most innovative research facilities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clinicians, researchers, patients, families, government, industry, and healthcare partners. The PhD candidate will also have the opportunity to participate in the FUTURES Hub and ETlab international research community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct ethnographic and participatory research to understand patient journeys and co-design new service pathways
- Develop future models and systems of care for immunoglobulin therapy
- Work closely with clinicians, researchers, and patients to co-design and prototype new service pathways
- Contribute to the development of safer, more equitable, and sustainable health futures
Requirements
- Background in a relevant design discipline
- Interest in developing innovative new research in Designing Health Futures and interdisciplinary connections to Medicine and STEM fields
- Commitment to undertaking research into future health systems, emerging technology, and equitable health futures
