Lead Design Specialist

The Lead Design Specialist plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development of substation designs, providing technical expertise to delivery teams and driving value creation for customers and partners through well-planned designs and smoothly executed projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed specifications, prepare and assess tenders, manage risk and resource plans, and produce forecasts and project estimates for substation projects.
  • Anticipate client requirements, take ownership of outcomes and deliver value through a proactive and collaborative approach.
  • Lead remote design teams to produce substation designs efficiently and effectively.
  • Drive continuous improvement by exploring the latest developments in the substation design field.
  • Provide technical guidance to project managers during construction phases.
  • Oversee time, budget, and quality performance for design projects.
  • Prepare and review complex reports, proposals and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • More than 10 years of relevant engineering experience with a focus on transmission and distribution substations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant standards, policies and procedures for substation design.
  • Proficiency in engineering software for detailed substation, transmission and distribution network design.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple network service providers and familiarity with their design and construction approval processes.
  • Strong teamwork, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
