Driver Trainer Role
We are seeking a skilled Driver Trainer to join our team in Spotswood VIC. As a Driver Trainer, you will be responsible for providing specialized training, assessment, and coaching to Toll drivers on all aspects of their duties, including induction, legislative requirements, and Toll Group procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs to support the delivery of Toll Group's driver training initiatives, including group and one-on-one training sessions.
- Assess driver competencies as part of pre-employment checks and re-assess current drivers to comply with business requirements and standards.
- Coach drivers to safely and effectively carry out work processes, ensuring that work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
- Plan and coordinate training requirements and activities, including annual forward planning and monthly requirements.
- Support the design and development of quality driver training materials in line with learning methodologies.
- Ensure that all mandatory training requirements are met within the business, including effective document control and quality records systems.
Requirements
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment.
- Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (preferably with MC).
- DG licence and SLP preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, road transport rules, and regulations.
- Experience as a skilled and competent driver/MHE operator and being an experienced and competent Trainer and Assessor.
- A can-do approach towards driver safety, coaching, and risk reduction.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to review training and assessment effectiveness and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
