Locomotive Driver Trainer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Locomotive Driver Trainer to join our team at Trojan Rail. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the next generation of rail professionals by delivering and assessing structured, hands-on training programs for both Trainee Locomotive Drivers and experienced train crew.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure trainees meet the required standards for L4 Locomotive Driver status.
- Conduct regular assessments to evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Collaborate with experienced train crew to deliver hands-on training and ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to maintain expertise in train management techniques.
- Certificate IV in Locomotive Driving (TLI42622 or equivalent)
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent)
- Current safeworking qualification
- Proven experience as a Driver Trainer in mainline heavy rail environments
- Class C unrestricted driver licence
- Current CAT 1 Rail medical certification or able to obtain
- Strong commitment to safety, backed by a positive, can-do attitude
- Outstanding communication and facilitation skills—both verbal and written
