Embark on a dynamic ecology career with real-world field experience on the NSW Mid North Coast.

About the Role

We seek an enthusiastic and skilled Ecologist to join our team and support our fieldwork program.

This role suits recent graduates or high-achieving students in ecology, zoology, environmental science, natural resource management or related disciplines.

You will assist in delivering ecology surveys and assessments, including fieldwork conducted at various times, such as day, night, early morning and weekends.

You will work alongside experienced ecologists, receive on-the-ground training and develop field skills and ecological understanding across a diverse bioregion on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in delivering ecology surveys and assessments.
  • Conduct fieldwork during various times, including day, night, early morning and weekends.
  • Develop field skills and ecological understanding.

This is a casual contract position with variable hours based at our Coffs Harbour office. Hours vary depending on project and fieldwork needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in Ecology/Science/Environmental Science/Applied Science/Natural Resource Management/Zoology or equivalent.
  • Class C Driver's Licence and manual vehicle driving confidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work outside regular hours and travel for periods of time.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Local knowledge of NSW Mid North Coast flora and fauna.
  • Previous experience with ecological surveys and data collection.
  • Well-developed biodiversity and environmental assessment report writing skills.
