About the Role:We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our fleet.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and contribute to continuous improvement in safe work practices.
- Work within established workshop rules and regulations at all times.
- Liaise with managers and supervisors daily to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Diligently diagnose and repair equipment faults, ensuring thoroughness and quality.
- Service and maintain plant and truck fleets to optimize performance and minimize downtime.
- Meet tight schedules while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and workmanship.
- Implement Lean practices to enhance quality and cost efficiency.
- Assist with planning and maintaining service schedules to ensure seamless operations.
- Source parts from suppliers based on quality and price to maximize value.
- Maintain company tools and equipment in excellent condition.
- Oversee major repairs, ensuring efficient work processes and a clean working environment.
- Possess a qualification as a Plant or Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with a minimum of 2 years' experience.
- Have in-depth knowledge of drivetrain, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Familiarity with plant equipment is essential.
- Understanding of basic auto electrical principles is necessary.
- Competency in computer-based diagnostics is a must.
- Demonstrate exceptional work ethic and commitment to task completion.
- Strive for excellence in Work Health and Safety.
- Be approachable, possess excellent people management skills, and be a professional communicator.
