Lead Power Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Power Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our System Design division, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in managing large-scale, technically complex projects from inception to commercial operation. You will be responsible for leading project teams, providing expert support and guidance, and ensuring seamless project delivery across the board.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a proven track record of delivering high-quality results, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a strong understanding of power system modelling tools (e.g. PSSE, PSCAD).

You will work closely with stakeholders, including network service providers, developers, investors, manufacturers, consultants, government bodies, regulators, and industry experts, to integrate a mix of technologies, from wind, solar, hydro, battery storage, and hydrogen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage large-scale, technically complex projects from inception to commercial operation.
  • Lead project teams and provide expert support and guidance.
  • Ensure seamless project delivery across the board.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate a mix of technologies.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or other discipline relevant to power systems analysis.
  • Proven leadership in delivering medium to large-scale, technically complex projects.
  • Strong expertise in power system modelling tools (e.g. PSSE, PSCAD).
  • Well-developed experience in managing generator connection processes and resolving performance issues within the National Electricity Market (NEM).
  • Solid understanding of the electricity industry, including NEM operations, generator behaviour, network constraints, and the commercial / legal aspects of large-scale infrastructure projects.
