Principal Power System Engineer: A Key Role in the Industry

The power systems industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the increasing demand for renewable energy and the need to upgrade existing infrastructure. As a Principal Power System Engineer, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of this industry.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead complex projects in power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. This will involve managing teams of engineers, developing models, performing studies, and assessing results using specialized software such as PSSE, PSCAD, PSS/SINCAL, and DIGSILENT.

To succeed in this role, you will need to have extensive knowledge of power systems and a strong understanding of the industry trends and regulations. You will also be responsible for providing technical supervision and mentoring to junior engineers, as well as supporting external stakeholders with technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead complex projects in power transmission, distribution, and renewable energy
  • Manage teams of engineers and provide technical supervision
  • Develop and maintain relationships with counterparts globally
  • Stay updated on industry trends and NER technical rules
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power System Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in the industry
  • Extensive knowledge of power systems in the transmission, distribution, and/or renewable energy industry
  • Proven leadership and mentorship experience
