Financial Accountant Position

We are seeking an exceptional Financial Accountant to join our Group Finance team. This is a dynamic and customer-focused environment where you will have control over the outcomes you achieve day-to-day.

The role involves overseeing the preparation of financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards and other regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with all relevant financial regulations, and assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

You will provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making at all levels of the business, manage relationships with internal stakeholders, auditors, and external regulatory bodies, and review and improve internal financial controls and processes.

Additionally, you will provide tax planning and management, including developing tax strategies to optimize the group's tax position and ensure compliance with all tax laws.

As a key member of the finance team, you will play a crucial role in managing corporate tax returns, providing advice on tax implications of business transactions, and working closely with external tax advisors to ensure the company maximizes available tax credits, deductions, and other opportunities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and CPA or CA qualification
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in a financial accounting role, with a blend of public practice and industry experience, ideally in construction or related sectors
  • Proven experience with Australian Accounting Standards, tax compliance, financial reporting, and tax planning
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present it in a clear, concise manner
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
