Job Opportunity

Rio Tinto aims to be a leading global mining and metals company.

The Projects team delivers large-scale capital projects every year, facing geographic growth, increasing project complexity, tougher supplier markets, and evolving delivery models.

We are looking for a specialist to coordinate all internal and external benchmarking activities.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will work within a collaborative community to oversee the performance benchmarking framework and reporting.

  • Benchmarking: Enable managers to compare project performance within the company and against industry standards, identify improvement areas, and boost efficiency and productivity.
  • Strategic Planning: Provide benchmarking tools to help set realistic goals and develop data-driven strategic plans, aligning projects with similar successful initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by regularly assessing performance and implementing changes based on benchmarking data.
  • Process Standardization and Optimization: Compare processes (e.g., study durations) with industry leaders to streamline project processes, reduce bottlenecks, and develop robust global data and benchmarking processes.
  • Engagement: Collaborate with engineering, estimation, planning, project controls, operations, and other experts to integrate data into the benchmarking framework. Manage engagements with external benchmarking forums and consultants.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

You will also need to be able to manage multiple priorities, work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Benefits:

This role offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career growth and professional development.

You will also have access to a range of employee benefits, including training and education programs, wellness initiatives, and social events.
